Good Things Come in Threes: SPW’s Supra, Jimny and Civic Type R

At one point in our lives, we’ve all hit a rock bottom. This was a time when we probably thought all hope was lost, and things couldn’t get better. Sometimes, it’s just the cards we’re dealt with in life. Other times, it’s because of our own doings. But, things do get better, eventually. It may not be soon, but they do. Good things certainly do come, and as the saying goes, sometimes they even arrive in threes.

SPW 1

This is the story of SPW, who a few years ago lost almost everything because of some bad dealings. Rather than giving up and calling it quits, he pushed on and persevered. Within a few years though, he managed to recover and grow even bigger than before. In fact, he’s the proud owner of the three cars in the photos here – A Toyota GR Supra with complete Artisan Spirits kit, a widebody Liberty Walk Suzuki Jimny, and a Varis-kitted Honda Civic Type R.

SPW 2

If the Supra and Jimny seem familiar, that’s because they were previously displayed at the 2019 Manila Auto Show. SPW’s white GR Supra is probably the first one extensively modified in the country already fitted with Yokohama Advan GT’s with Alcon big brakes, an Artisan Spirits kit, and is tuned to 500 HP. Meanwhile, it Jimny gets the full Liberty Walk treatment and has the signature Greddy side stripe.

SPW 3

Though the lineup might be a good representation of his status now, Sherwin says that these three cars also serve as a reminder for him. A reminder that a few years ago, he lost almost everything. It was a time where he couldn’t even afford to buy any of these toys. To him, the Jimny, Supra, and CTR are simply ways to look back and remember the lessons learned from past experiences. That way, the same mistakes won’t happen again. Interestingly, it was also a way of thanking his friends for never giving up on him, in particular, the shop who built his cars – Autoline Motorsports.

SPW 4

We’ll leave it at that for now. Stay tuned though as we’ll go more into the details on each of Sherwin’s ride in features coming in the future.
